Egyptian Mau Cat Breed
Cat insurance is important in a household full of cats. Having an Eygptian Mau is no different. Reading the history of this breed, it has been around a very long time and we all want to continue this. Cat insurance helps out with the large (and small) vet bills that appear unexpectedly (and expectedly). With cat insurance it makes owning a cat much more affordable.
Did you know that Mau is the Egyptian word for cat? The Egyptian Mau cat is known to be one of the oldest breeds for domestic cats. Not only that, it is the only naturally spotted cat. These cats were the cats that were worshiped by the Egyptians and a part of their everyday life. They were respected as pets and when they died, some of them were mummified. What makes the Egyptian Mau breed special is that it is the only natural spotted domestic cat.
It has been said that the Egyptian Mau came to North America by an exiled Princess, Nathalie Troubetskoy immigrated to America from Italy. In the beginning it was very difficult to breed Egyptian Maus because there were such a small number of them. The first association to accept this breed was the Cats Fancier Federation (CFF) in 1968.
The Egyptian Mau's coat makes this cat recognizable due to its natural spots. The main colors of this breed are silver, bronze and smoke. Their fur differs depending on what color their color. For the cats that are silver and bronze, their coat is very dense and resilient. And the cats that are smoke colored have a more silky touch. Since their coat is in between medium and short length, grooming is minimal.
This breed enjoys being outdoors and doing hunting-like activities. If you bring them outside, their history might take over them and start becoming a hunter they used to be. Don't let this scare you away from owning a Egyptian Mau, they are loyal to their owners, although it does take a little while to warm up to strangers. This breed isn't a talkative one, but when they do have something to say, they aren't afraid to say it.
Pet insurance should not be taken very lightly. Many pet owners can benefit with this type of insurance. Trupanion pet insurance
