Top Seven Tips for Holidays to Egypt
To make the most of a holiday to Egypt here are my top ten tips for having a truly unforgettable experience.
1. The temples
Egypt is famous for its temples; they are an amazing achievement and should certainly be fully appreciated. The three night cruise along Lake Nasser is worth booking where you approach the breathtaking temples of Rameses the second at Abu Simbel from the lake, amazing!
2 Have breakfast by the pyramids
Next to the pyramids and The Sphinx is the fascinating historical hotel, the Mena House Oberoi which has been home to emperors, kings and celebrities. You can enjoy a fantastic breakfast overlooking the pyramids while avoiding the huge crowds for a special experience.
3 Book a morning hot air balloon flights
Being in the air for the break of dawn to enjoy the sun filter across the land as you drift over the river Nile and amazing ruins, this is my personal favourite. You can glide over and look at the temples, monuments and tombs of Necropolis as well as the Valley of Kings.
4 Cruise down the Nile
Take in the break taking views as you sail down the River Nile. You can sometimes learn about the incredible sites with the guide on board helping you to learn as you enjoy the sail down.
5 Enjoy the peace by the Red Sea
Avoid the masses of other tourists by staying at the Red Sea resort of Ain Soukhna. For those that can afford it the four star Stella Grand offers all the luxuries so you get plenty me time. This resort is situated only two hours from the Pyramids so you can see the famous sights while still enjoying the beach.
6 The city of Alexandria
Alexandria is a charming city that is often overlooked but used to be the capital of Greco-Roman Egypt. Visit the Montazah Palace which was the last home of King Farouk I and the Bibliotheca Alexandria is home to a museum of antiques.
7 Do some activities
There are plenty of water sports to engage in and other adrenaline pumping sports. I’m car mad so I would recommend the dune buggy experience in Sharm el Sheikh or take a dive and explore the coral in the Red Sea.
There is so much to see and do for Holidays to Egypt but for something a bit special go with one my seven little wonders of Egypt.
