Bunk beds are common in houses with 2 or more children growing up. In the 2 child situation, it is probably the most popular form of bedding. They let you watch your children easily and save a lot of room in the bedroom. Bunk bed bedding is much different than that which is used for regular style beds. Here are the great things and the not so great things about bunk bed bedding.
You really can't use regular comforters with a bunk bed because they are way too big. Sometimes they are so long that the sides will touch the floor or hang low for the person below to grab and pull on. The biggest problem is that comforters will fall off of small children and when they try to pick it up off the floor they risk falling from the top bunk or knocking over other bedroom items.
To solve this problem you can use a bunk bed cap. These are comforters that are made for bunks. They fit tight to the mattress because they have elastic bands in them. You might not find the best looking caps but you have to think about safety and warmth before design. In terms of quality you want to make sure that it can handle children and be washed often. Kids are notorious for rough handling their bedding.
Another issue is that the sheets are a pain to change. A more simple approach is to buy the attached sheets. This makes it easier when changing because you only need to remove the bottom layer and the top layer will come with it. You can even get your children to help you out by taking them off themselves because it is very easy.
Those were only a few issues with bunk beds. You should make it a point to go to your local store to see the other types of bunk bed bedding that is available.
If you plan on doing some decoration in the bedroom then you need to protect yourself. A paint respirator and an article on how to paint a room will definitely help you.
