Info please!!! Archeology/Egyptology and anywhere in between?
I desperately want to look up information on Archeology and more specifically Egyptology but neither are in they Occupational Oulook Handbook. (They are subcatagorized under social science). How much do they make? How many years of school do they have to take? What are the working conditions, etc. (And anything else that's interesting for that matter)
None of these really answer's my question. I found out yesterday that John's Hopkins University charges 35,000 dollars per year and for a Ph.d. in Egyptology you have to take approximately 7-8 years. The field itself doesn't have many jobs so if you wanted a steady pay check you'd have to specialize. (and take some more years in college) And it's best if you learn either german for frech before you go to college. None of these people said that so there fore I'n not giving any of them a best answer.

ADDITIONAL INFO - the Society for American Archaeology Salary Survey is available on line at http://saa.org/membership/survey/. If you look it over you will see that the second respondent to your quesiton is a bit of an over estimator.
